Professor Jackie Clark is currently a Clinical Associate Professor at UT Dallas’ School of Brain and Behavioral Sciences, and has been appointed as a Research Scholar at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. Courses that she teaches include: Advanced Clinical Audiology; Diagnostic Audiology; Pediatric Audiology; Anatomy & Physiology of the Auditory System; Electrophysiology; Planning/Providing Humanitarian Audiology Services in Developing Countries.
She has authored many peer-reviewed research articles, some book chapters, and has been invited to lecture in many parts of the world. Dr. Clark has been able to maintain an international perspective as the Chair of the Humanitarian Committee of the International Society of Audiology; Managing Editor of the International Journal of Audiology; Co-organizer of the Coalition for Global Hearing Health Conference; and engages in an annual philanthropic program in Southern Africa that began in 1997. She was the recipient of the American Academy of Audiology Humanitarian Award in 2005.
Dr. Clark is a long-time member of the American Academy of Audiology; board-certified with the American Board of Audiology; licensed to practice audiology and dispense hearing aids in the States of Texas and Louisiana. When at home in Texas, she carries an active clinical caseload with clinical duties involving adult and pediatric diagnosis, and electrophysiological assessments.

Dr. Gans is the founder and executive director of The American Institute of Balance one of the country's largest balance disorders treatment centers. He received his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in Auditory and Vestibular Physiology. Dr. Gans has been a leader in the development of vestibular evaluation and rehabilitation techniques. He has presented or published over 150 programs worldwide and papers in the area of equilibrium disorders. He is adjunct professor at the University of South Florida, Nova Southeastern University and University of Pittsburgh. He has taught vestibular and balance courses for Arizona School of Health Sciences, Pennsylvania College of Optometry-School of Audiology, and the University of Florida distance learning Au.D. programs. The Auditory System From Cochlea to Cortex

Frank H. Willard, Ph.D., graduated from the University of Vermont with a Ph.D. in Anatomy and Neurobiology and a thesis focused on the cytoarchitecture of the auditory system in the mouse. He did a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Anatomy, Ohio State University, studying the development of the mammalian auditory nerve and cochlear nucleus.
Currently he is a Professor of Anatomy at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is System Manager for the Neuroscience-Neurology System at the University of New England.
Dr. Willard also lectures on the development of the auditory system at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, postgraduate course in Auditory Studies.

The location of the cochlea in the petrous temporal bone will be explored through human dissection and the features of the organ of Corti will be presented using histological sections. A mechanism for cochlear function will be outlined and applied to an understanding of congenital deafness and to the use of a cochlear prosthesis. The Physiologic Basis of Audiologic Practice
Presenter: Charles I. Berlin, Ph.D. [bio]Charles I. Berlin, Ph.D.
Charles I. Berlin, Ph.D., is Professor Emeritus of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and Physiology and former Director of the world-renowned Kresge Hearing Research Laboratory at LSU Medical School in New Orleans.
He was also a practicing audiologist who saw patients weekly in the audiology clinic he directed which was selected by Family Circle magazine in 1987 as the “Best Place in the United States for Hearing Problems.” He has been called the 'Teacher's Teacher' and succeeds in making complicated auditory concepts accessible to parents, teachers, and hearing aid specialists, as well as his audiology and physician students.
His clinical activities specialize in fitting hearing aids with real ear measurement to difficult-to-manage patients, both children and adults.
Dr. Berlin and his colleagues have published germinal work on the auditory abilities of brain-injured Vietnam War veterans and hemispherectomee patients operated on by Joseph Bogen, M.D. and colleagues, and studied by Nobelist Roger Sperry, Ph.D. and his colleagues. He has been an author on close to 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles and has edited 10 books on hearing science.
He was a founding member of the Advisory Board to the National Institute of Deafness and Other Communication Disorders.His current research with Drs. Linda Hood and Thierry Morlet is on otoacoustic emissions and efferent suppression, and he is collaborating on teams isolating and identifying genes for deafness in humans and rodents with Dr. Bronya Keats. He is also currently engaged in studies of Auditory Neuropathy/ Dyssynchrony, a condition which precludes the use of hearing aids, and Auditory Verbal Therapy, despite mild audiometric hearing loss, unless cochlear implantation is used.

Dr. Feliz-Camilo was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She is a graduate of the Medical School of the Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), graduated with honors in 1996, magna cum laude. She did her residency training at Hospital Salvador B. Gautier, in otolaryngolgy, head and neck surgery, graduated in 2001, with rotations at Hospital LA Raza, in Mexico City, DF. In 2009, she completed training in endoscopic and microscopic surgery of the ear at Hospital 2 de maig, at Barcelona, Spain. In 2013 Dr. Feliz-Camino completed a rotation in neurotology at the University of Miami, Miller school of Medicine. She has practiced as an otolaringologist at Hospital general plaza de la salud in Santo Domingo, from 2002 to 2008. Worked as a faculty teaching head and neck anatomy and also otolaringology at INTEC, for 11 years, as well as in private practice: at Centro de cirugia plastica y Especialidades and at Hospiten Santo Domingo. Member of Sociedad Dominicana de otorrinolaringologia, cirugia de cabeza y cuello and part of its directives for 4 years in a row.
