Dr. Gans is the founder and executive director of The American Institute of Balance one of the country's largest balance disorders treatment centers. He received his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in Auditory and Vestibular Physiology. Dr. Gans has been a leader in the development of vestibular evaluation and rehabilitation techniques. He has presented or published over 150 programs worldwide and papers in the area of equilibrium disorders. He is adjunct professor at the University of South Florida, Nova Southeastern University and University of Pittsburgh. He has taught vestibular and balance courses for Arizona School of Health Sciences, Pennsylvania College of Optometry-School of Audiology, and the University of Florida distance learning Au.D. programs. Dr. Gans is a past President (2004-2005)of the American Academy of Audiology.
Dr. Gans is the author of the text Vestibular Rehabilitation: Protocols and Programs.

Presenter: James W. Hall, III, Ph.D. [bio]James W. Hall, III, Ph.D.
James W. Hall III, Ph.D. received a Bachelor's degree in biology from American International College, a Masters degree from Northwestern University and, in 1979, his Ph.D. in audiology from Baylor College of Medicine under the direction of Dr. James Jerger. Since then, he has held clinical and academic audiology positions at major medical centers, including the University of Pennsylvania, University of Texas Medical School-Houston, and Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Hall is now Clinical Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Florida in Gainesville where he maintains a clinical practice, participates in funded research, and serves as a clinical instructor and mentor in the Doctor of Audiology on-campus and distance learning programs. He also holds an appointment as Extraordinary Professor in the Department of Communication Pathology at the University of Pretoria in South Africa.
Dr. Hall's major clinical and research interests are clinical electrophysiology, auditory processing disorders, and tinnitus/hyperacusis. He regularly lectures internationally on these and other audiology and hearing-related topics. Dr. Hall is the author of over 125 peer-reviewed journal articles, monographs, or book chapters, as well as seven textbooks including the Handbook of Otoacoustic Emissions, the New Handbook of Auditory Evoked Responses, Audiologists' Desk Reference (Volumes I and II), and the recently published Objective Assessment of Hearing.

Dr. Wazen built a successful Ear, Nose & Throat specialty practice in New York and spent the past 23 years as a researcher, professor and practitioner with Columbia University and the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center.
Recognized repeatedly as one of New York's and America's 'Best Doctors,' Dr. Wazen is one of the nation¹s leading authorities on hearing and balance disorders, pioneering new research that expanded treatments for people with single-sided deafness and complex cases of hearing loss. He also is author of the seminal book, Dizzy, providing new treatment options and hope for people affected by balance and hearing disorders.
In addition to providing medical care in the office, Dr. Wazen is an experienced otological / neurotological surgeon trained to restore hearing through microsurgical procedures, such as stapedectomy to correct ear bone degeneration (otosclerosis) and other minimally invasive techniques to cure birth defects, infection or disease (such as Meniere's). He also specializes in surgical removal of tumors (acoustic neuromas and skull based lesions), as well as insertion of implantable hearing devices and cochlear implants (electrodes placed in the inner ear to restore severly impaired hearing).

Professor Jackie Clark is currently a Clinical Associate Professor at UT Dallas’ School of Brain and Behavioral Sciences, and has been appointed as a Research Scholar at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. Courses that she teaches include: Advanced Clinical Audiology; Diagnostic Audiology; Pediatric Audiology; Anatomy & Physiology of the Auditory System; Electrophysiology; Planning/Providing Humanitarian Audiology Services in Developing Countries.
She has authored many peer-reviewed research articles, some book chapters, and has been invited to lecture in many parts of the world. Dr. Clark has been able to maintain an international perspective as the Chair of the Humanitarian Committee of the International Society of Audiology; Managing Editor of the International Journal of Audiology; Co-organizer of the Coalition for Global Hearing Health Conference; and engages in an annual philanthropic program in Southern Africa that began in 1997. She was the recipient of the American Academy of Audiology Humanitarian Award in 2005.
Dr. Clark is a long-time member of the American Academy of Audiology; board-certified with the American Board of Audiology; licensed to practice audiology and dispense hearing aids in the States of Texas and Louisiana. When at home in Texas, she carries an active clinical caseload with clinical duties involving adult and pediatric diagnosis, and electrophysiological assessments.

Introduction to Diagnostic Audiological Assessment
Presenter: James W. Hall, III, Ph.D. [bio]James W. Hall, III, Ph.D.
James W. Hall III, Ph.D. received a Bachelor's degree in biology from American International College, a Masters degree from Northwestern University and, in 1979, his Ph.D. in audiology from Baylor College of Medicine under the direction of Dr. James Jerger. Since then, he has held clinical and academic audiology positions at major medical centers, including the University of Pennsylvania, University of Texas Medical School-Houston, and Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Hall is now Clinical Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Florida in Gainesville where he maintains a clinical practice, participates in funded research, and serves as a clinical instructor and mentor in the Doctor of Audiology on-campus and distance learning programs. He also holds an appointment as Extraordinary Professor in the Department of Communication Pathology at the University of Pretoria in South Africa.
Dr. Hall's major clinical and research interests are clinical electrophysiology, auditory processing disorders, and tinnitus/hyperacusis. He regularly lectures internationally on these and other audiology and hearing-related topics. Dr. Hall is the author of over 125 peer-reviewed journal articles, monographs, or book chapters, as well as seven textbooks including the Handbook of Otoacoustic Emissions, the New Handbook of Auditory Evoked Responses, Audiologists' Desk Reference (Volumes I and II), and the recently published Objective Assessment of Hearing.
